Just skimming through the threads of white noise that it's become in here and then came across that. That was most certainly not coaching. If I recall correctly, the Cougar receiver had 2 or 3 Bulls around him and they just didn't make the play. What it was was just another example of opposing team's wr's making the tough catch for their qb ....... something we haven't seen enough of around here since Huey Whittaker.

Huey!!!!  Quick story, I lived immediately across the hall from Huey and Maurice Jones (starting middle lb) when I lived at Campus Lodge back in the day (2003-2005).

So Jones was about 6’0”, 240 (so not a small guy) and I was 6’2”, 210 at the time. But holy moly, every time I saw Huey he dwarfed me and jones. He was all of 6’4 or 5 and was an absolute specimen - and super chill guy.

We may have gotten drunk together a few times - sorry xCJL!!!!

@E.T. and I have a brief Huey story.  We tried to pull him into the stands after one game.  Took us both and almost went the opposite way.  😂

Worst coaching contract made by an AD in USF history.

What was wrong with the contract?  They paid a "hot" head coach the going rate at the time of 5 years 25M. No poison pills. No subterfuge.  He is not performing,  but there is nothing terrible about the contract.

he's got 3 losses this year to ranked teams by less than 7 points. led in the 4th quarter of all of them. only game that wasn't competitive was clemson game.

usually the last thing a team learns is how to close out a game.

he will be fine.

paying Strong the 16th highest salary in college football is a joke. especially in the secretive manner in which it was handled.

I'd like to think that Holtz will hold the record for worst coaching career @ US of F. That being said, assuming an ECU win, and remaining losses would bring this year's tally to eight. Holtz had 21 losses over three years, Strong would finish out with 16. Yeah, five fewer losses is better, objectively. But we're still comparing two slow horses.

Strong currenty has more WINS that all 3 of holtz years here. He had more wins in 2 years than holtz had in 3. Yet u talking about losses?

Not sure why I’m not far from being fooled into looking at skippy years as good ol’ days...maybe it’s the ass whoopings we are taking against lesser opponents these days.
