Yes. because we never fully recovered from the 2011-2014 bowl drought.

We will probably never recover from wilful destruction of the Big East by several teams, then the implosion under Holtz. QF and Taggart brought some good will back but CCS has squandered it all.

At this point, our best hope to compete is for other teams to leave, the AAC fold, and we get a huge payout to help us dominate CUSA.

+1. I wouldn't say just QF, we had a handful of really good college players that allowed him to blossom.    but the defense was terrible and we had some holes in the depth chart even when we were top 25.   As a program I don't think we were that strong, just had a few studs.  They're all gone
