McElwain likes Shannon a lot, he was stressing his importance to his program when the rumors of Collins to UCF. I'd be surprised to see Shannon make that move when he still believes he could be a Head Coach again.

Looks like Shannon makes @ $400K.  Not sure what Allen gets paid, but I read $35,000.  Hard to jump from LB coach to HC for Shannon, but not sure we'd be able to lure him away, even if we paid $600K...but maybe (not even sure how much $$ we have to spend).

The best answer if he leaves is on staff currently. Coach Woodie is going to be a DC very soon whether it's at USF or another school. His promotion would solidify any recruiting class as he is our top recruiter, at also frees up a spot for Nicholas to be brought onto the staff full time(stole that last tidbit from a poster on another board but I liked it).

 

Not that worried if Allen does leave to be honest.

I love Coach Woodie as a recruiter, but don't think hes ready to lead our Defense as far as putting together a scheme/game plan/play calling/ managing other defensive coaches. But I do also hope Nicholas is brought on full time or at least retained in his current role.

If we lose woodie shannon wood be a bigger need to help recruit.  We could also afford about 600K for Shannon.

I would definitely not just give everyone a raise as your have laid out. There are certain coaches who are up and comers who need raises to stop them from leaving for greener pastures, but there are others who you can keep at their current levels.

With that said, most of our current staff have been with CWT for a while so imagine he just gives them all a nice pay bump without really evaluating who deserves to get paid.
