Our defense improved EXPONENTIALLY in his FIRST and ONLY year. It would only be better as the years went on as the kids got older and got more knowledgeable in the system

Our defense ended the year ranked 21st in the nation in 2013. They regressed a little in 2014 but its not like it was a total disaster before Allen came in. Our offense was the problem in 2013 and 2014 never our defense. AND that was with chuck b as coordinator, who did totally totally awful at UCF this year. The athletes CWT recruits can honestly make anyone look good. If anything, our defense UNDERACHIEVED this year.

This. Plus, when the offense is better, the defense doesn't have to be on the field so much. Well, except in the bowl game, when we couldn't stop anything. We will be all right. Losing Taggart would have been much more detrimental. Coordinators, that's a flesh wound -if we lose Allen. Nothing says that he's going anywhere yet! Sorry, my bad. It's the head coach. At Auburn, it's Gus Malzahn. [...] Gus Malzahn not only arrived to A-State as a perceived upgrade to Hugh Freeze, he was also regarded as a kind of football messiah. He wore his religious faith and his love for the game on the same sleeve. “I totally believe that God has blessed me with the unique ability to know offense, to call offense.” – Gus Malzahn LINK ------- "I want to get the right guy," Malzahn said. "Like I've said, I'll stay with the sooner rather than the later. Sooner, obviously, would be before the convention. But at the same time I want to get the right person." Hope we can bring in a DC that can game plan for a passing attack and make in game adjustments. The DB's looked lost in the second half versus WKU. Said Coach pretty much told him that he was leaving, but that it wasn't "official" yet and wouldn't directly say it. I know it's hearsay, but I'm just relaying what I was told. Take it for what you all will, but I think he's gone. Edited December 24, 2015 by usfsig
