I don’t understand the animosity towards Taggert

He won games, put an exciting product on the field and left the program in better shape than when he arrived

He's an *******. He made it clear he didn't give a rat's rear about USF, and made no bones about the fact that we were his stepping stone. He was a good hire for transient success, but without QF he gets fired here and never makes his payday. He deliberately lost games harder earlier on to "engineer a turnaround." He deliberately remained ignorant about our program's history and nascent culture, and deliberately brushed it all aside. He made decisions time and again his first few years that made us all cringe. No way, no how, do not want him back.

Yup pretty much sums it up. The first two seasons under CWT were tough to get through. He left USF high & dry before QF’s senior season after USF was very patient with his first two seasons. He really got Oregon too by bolting so quick for the FSU job. Karma caught up to him at FSU. His dream job ended up being a dumpster fire. Losing to McNeese St like he did is still one of the worst losses in USF history. That set the program back

If we go with an ex-coach, we have one ex-coach who has had tremendous success since leaving.

One, and only one.

So that's the one to bring back if we went with a former coach.

And Tags recruited QF and MM, and he would find us another QF and MM.

Worked great for him at FSU...

I guess I'm wondering if WT is such a great recruiter and can recognize raw talent like QF, how many QBs has he signed since then at USF, Oregon and FSU that are or have made an impact?

He had only  1 full recruiting cycle in those 3 years.

And whose fault is that?

And didn't he get QF in his first year here which wasn't a full cycle?
