I think he promoted a culture of losing until he was forced to adapt.  I never saw his genius.

what Rhule did at Temple, Fuente did at Memphis, Herman did at Houston, Frost did at UCF, Morris did at SMU...etc..etc... They bolted when a better opportunity arose. It will always be that way in the AAC. We're the Minors Leagues.

this is why coaches in the AAC shouldn't make more than a million per year. We overpay them and get 0% loyalty.

HC Salaries are getting out of control:

No thanks! Losing to Temple and getting blown out by FSU. Then to make things worse, the coach bolts before the bowl game as probably the coach knew they couldn’t win a bowl game?

That Temple game still hurts.  The one we couldnt lose.  Would have won the conference.....UGH!

To be fair, that FSU team was very good with Dalvin Cook.  Look what he is doing in the NFL now.

I’m more pissed about the Temple loss. The FSU game was a pipe dream. No way CWT would have kept that game close

I had predicted a Temple victory and that was not even considering Flowers getting hurt.  If we know anything about USF football, they have trouble with physical teams which run downhill and pass to the TE while playing solid defense.  While 30 points against that team was very good, the 46 was a disappointment even if not a surprise.

The only issue I have ever had with Taggart was that the defense seemed to get worse as time went on.....

You mean you like being 11 and 2 along with winning games with a 43.8 to 31.6 average? What is wrong with you.

Looking at those results,  if I was a school with a crap ton of money I would want that coach back then also.

Agree. That defense killed me. It made me drink very heavily that season.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
