I wouldn't call Purdue "high level" unless we are considering all P5 schools "high level" and that's fine by me

How about an OCS rumor? That would be from out of nowhere.

Top of my head? Jeff Brohm. Not sure if that's top level enough for you, but it's a more desirable job than USF. I'm sure there's more if I bothered looking.

That's what I call common sense.

Dude come on that is a basketball school.

I'm not saying it never happendd I just can't quite remember anyone making a jump like that.

Was told Lane Kiffin interviewed for a job yesterday. But it wasn’t #USF. #OleMiss #Arkansas #SEC

Of course Torello is just a **** stirrer, so who knows.

I can't believe people on this board are saying "why would Kiffin go to USF?" The guy is a desperate striver who has been injecting himself into every opening in the past two years to try to get back to the top. Despite how far we have fallen we are still much better positioned than FAU and any reasonable person can see that. I mean, come on. That said, its obvious he only cares about himself so he'd drop us like a hot potato if he was offered a P5 job.

I’ll pose you the same question:

You are a G5 coach who has won 2 conference championships in your 3 year tenure. You are angling for a P5 gig and are the top name for several SEC vacancies.

If for whatever reason you are not offered or pass on those SEC openings, do you:

1: Stay another year at your G5 program that you’ve built into a consistent championship contender, and see what offers await next season?

2: Start over at a different G5 program, that’s a rebuilding effort, and would be at least a 2 year commitment, given you already have a stain on your reputation for bolting a program after a single year?

2. Take the money. Build up another program. Keep your nose clean. The next P5 program he gets is going to be a rebuild, so he's only helping his case by turning us around. If he goes from making FAU relevant to making us decent, he's only going to get more offers and more money in a couple more years. If his agent is telling him he needs to do more rehab and people aren't quite yet sold on handing the keys to a legit program to someone with Lane's background, success here benefits everyone.
