It's time to hand King the keys to the offense for this bowl game.  This is a perfect no risk audition to see how he handles calling plays and running offensive practices the next couple of weeks.    Let's do the **** thing.

It will certainly be interesting to see how CCS plays this.  I mean we could have a new permanent OC before the bowl.

Would he be able to change much in 2 weeks from what they have been doing for 2 years?

Would have to judge him by situational down and distance play calling.

I hear we got a great deal hiring the HC of McNeese State to be our new OC. I think his name is Gilbert Sterling.

He can install some new stuff but not overhaul the offense.   Some those screens, outside runs etc that we used to see once every 2-4 games under Gilbert can get more burn.   The big difference will be HOW he calls the game and making us less predictable in and of itself should be a shot in the arm for the offense.  All of this of course is dependent on King being who some of us think he is.

Well he cant change much of the x's and o's, but he can change how and what strategy the existing plays are called.

I totally agree. Look how many ex-qb's are around successfully coaching. SK has all the attributes, experience, knowledge, the players seem to love him..and yes, he likes a good burger too. I said before, CSS can bring in a new O position assistant who has experience that can assist as needed.

So...lets get a show of hands on this--- Shawn King gets his live game shot at OC... All those in favor, Say Aye!

Aye

I have no idea what it takes for a position coach to make the jump to OC, so I'll leave it up to you guys!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
