Breaking news: according to AM/PMknite Huston Nutt, Skipp Holtz and Bill Parcells have all turned down the gators. According to his sources their next target is an up and coming pop warner from the Miami area. Stay tuned

You don't have to believe it but he turned down UF. It doesn't fit the narrative you guys want for UCF.

Just bc Taggart bolted USF as soon as possible doesn't mean the same is going to happen to UCF.

I've heard he was a candidate but there was no movement beyond that.....This is coming from a family that has been big time Gator boosters going back a couple generations (They used to have dinners with Jeremy Foley).   They said Chip has been their number one all along and Frost would be the next name if Chip wasn't interested.  They said they feel good about Chip but it's not a done deal, btw.  If Chip says no they WILL come after Frost....

Frost and Chip are good friends. The 'Chip smokescreen' is not going to work. Chip was not their #1 choice, that materialized after they realized Frost is not happening.

no UCF fan thinks that but there is a good chance he is around for Season 3.....trust me he turned down UF. This is not coming from the UCF side, Bull Gator boosters talk...

That first sentence of yours got lost in the shuffle, because of what followed.

So, regardless of whether he turned down UF,  UCF fans just think there is a "good chance" that he will be your coach for next season.

Considering that you might even have a stronger team next year, I could see him sticking around for another year.

BUT, I don't buy into Frost ALREADY turning down UF.

He may have already been approached by UF, or someone on their behalf, to gauge his interest in the job.

However, I think he is smart enough not to reject it out of hand.

It's more likely that he told them that he is only concentrating on the current season and will only consider his employment options after all the conference games are decided.

As much as he might enjoy coaching UCF, he can't afford to burn any bridges to UF. That job doesn't come open all that often.

I'll have whatever you're smoking.....The info came from somebody extremely reliable and he said Chip was their #1 a couple days after it came open.  Tell yourself whatever you have to but Frost was the second name on the list, he said specifically because Kelly had already proven himself at the highest level for a number of years.  You're gunna hear what you want to hear, but you're wrong.

Frost going to UF is the closest UCF will be to getting into the SEC. Might as well enjoy it Cent Florida fans.
