With the many openings in CFB,, especially in the SEC this year....what does that say about CCS if he does NOT get poached? Can’t blame him for wanting to get a P5 job and just like CWT, nobody should blame him.

Says that his time at Texas is being weighed into his value. His 1 season here with basically the same results as his predecessor with an amazing talent at QB isn't enough to say that he had the full impact of getting us 9 wins. Please note, that I am not saying he's a bad coach and I don't want him gone, just pointing this out as the perception of him as it relates to these openings. Even if the ADs at these schools thinks he's a good coach, they have to have a fan base behind the hire and I really think only UF would be a possibility at this point. Maybe Arkansas since he's an Alumni. Other fanbases are going to focus on his Texas stint too much at this point without a large enough sample size of success. If we get to 10 wins next year with a top 15 or so defense, he gone.

It doesn’t say anything unless you’ve already decided it does.

His name has been linked to that potential opening a few times now. I’m also reading a lot of comments where people are now saying the problem was Texas not Strong, and that Strong is actually a good coach. If this line of thinking is contagious he might get lifted, but I think this is mainly his agent spreading tall tales

Exactly the problem was and clearly still is Strong.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
