And that's fine; I just don't get why our fan base needs to crucify the guy when we didn't do that when Mathies got his. Something about stones and glass houses comes to mind.

Oregon's last OC was making $600,000. The lowest paid member of the previous staff was making $318,600.

Im not crucifying Reeves for the DUI, Im doing it 4 the timing. If he did it after 1 successful or even decent year at Oregon cool, but not immediately after u get hired 4 the biggest job of ur life. Plus i think the alcohol blood content was on 2 different levels. Reeves seem to have a few more charges.

Exactly.  So why are people on here calling for Reaves to be fired yet no outcry over Strickland?  Either you believe in 2nd (or 5th) chances or you don't.  If people believe Reaves should be fired then they should be calling for Strickland to be fired, or to have never been hired.  I realize he'll be gone at the end of the season but just pointing out what seems to be a difference in standards.

It's simple - we want them fired so that we feel adequate punishment has been handed out (and hopefully will warn others to think twice), but because we believe in second chances, we allow them to be hired elsewhere.

Exactly, it's not like he's had 4 DUIs while at USF. He's been clean with us, kinda vindicating our taking a chance on him. And, well, if he was going to drink, these past two seasons have offered plenty of opportunity to climb in a bottle.
