Football ban will be appealed.

Good for you. I don't know what would be funnier::

0-12 no bowl

12-0 no bowl

0-12 would just be a "hey NCAA, u mad?" kinda message.

12-0 and no c-usa title or bowl game....with that fanbase....they'd be touting for YEARS how they would have smoked us that year and would have beaten SEC teams and won a national title. hell, they'd probably prop it up as one of those unofficial national titles like Pitt/Penn State and others have done from eons ago.

Hitt said appeal process should last thru the season and if it is not successful then UCF would serve ban next season.

dumbest thing ever....it wouldn't affect this years recruits if they let it go

and I'd rather miss out on a CUSA bowl than a BE bowl

There you go. Probably figure this will be their last chance to go to a bowl in quite a while and don't want to miss out ...

It's not a really big deal and will not affect their future. They should not appeal.

Still not sure why they wouldn't take their lumps this year since they would be eligible for the last BCS Championship game next year. Seems like a big risk.

The 5 year probation does affect this and the loss of 5 scholarships a year for 3 years does impact them.

If in fact they appeal, and additional dirt comes out during the appeal relating to the same infraction, does this open the door for the NCAA to assert more severe sanctions....would serve them right if they do in fact appeal. They should be thanking the sanction Gods that is all they got.

If they appeal, does it postpone the sanctions till that is settled? Meaning that it would apply to the 2013 football season and 2013-14 basketball season, when they join the Big East.

No. Now what is the answer to my question?

They should just take the ban this season. Will this effect recruiting if they are banned in 2013? I know it has not affected Miami yet, but UCF is not near their level from a name standpoint.
