How is this a punishment for UCF? They rarely make bowls and the NCAA Tourney as it is... it would be like banning Vanderbilt from winning the SEC title, or playing in the national championship gam

LOL... that was my thought... they banned the Basketball team from the NCAA's this season... who cares? Their team is going to suck this season anyways... how is that a punishment?

If @CBSSports report correct, certainly fortunate for UCF that NCAA penalties won't carry over into first season in Big East in 2013-14.

Well, if you follow the players that are eligible this year ( transfers) they are likely to be better, not worse than last year. if seniors can transfer with no wait, that might be devastating if someone like Clanton leaves.

B Ball hurts, no F ball post season is really no big deal. Missing a Liberty Bowl ( which C-USA can be locked out of anyway if the SEC chooses) or another St Pete Bowl is no big deal

UCF prolly got resolved so quick because UCF themselves asked for a fast-track to get the punishment done before entering the BE. just a guess
