Thanks for the replies. That makes no sense though.

Kind of like a pitcher in baseball being suspended for 5 games ...not 5 starts.

I know, not sure that the appeal is the right thing to do. Terrible bowl choices as CUSA member....just terrible. I would just play hard and move on.

If in fact they appeal, and additional dirt comes out during the appeal relating to the same infraction, does this open the door for the NCAA to assert more severe sanctions....would serve them right if they do in fact appeal. They should be thanking the sanction Gods that is all they got.

If they appeal, does it postpone the sanctions till that is settled? Meaning that it would apply to the 2013 football season and 2013-14 basketball season, when they join the Big East.
