How is this a punishment for UCF? They rarely make bowls and the NCAA Tourney as it is... it would be like banning Vanderbilt from winning the SEC title, or playing in the national championship gam

LOL... that was my thought... they banned the Basketball team from the NCAA's this season... who cares? Their team is going to suck this season anyways... how is that a punishment?

I have a question, so bear with me. If UCF doesn't qualify for a bowl this year and goes 5-7, does that season still qualify as a bowl ban season even if they wouldn't qualify anyways? Does the bowl ban follow them next year until they qualify for one and win at least 6 games? The penalties don't sound to bad, since this is like a throw away year for them anyways since they're not in the BE yet. A 2 year bowl ban would've really sucked for them. I don't see this really affecting them at all when it comes to recruiting, etc..

In all seriousness, yes, if UCF goes 5-7 the bowl ban will still count.

Bowl bans are tied to a calendar, not your ability to be bowl eligible.

Is Clanton already a senior? Didn't he pick UCF over USF? Bad choice. Probably told him they would dance in his four years. Not now. Sad.
