It looks like not all big programs are in favor of what California is proposing.

Of course not. How dare California break the power of the Universities taking control of the rights of these student athletes, like they're sharecroppers from the 1890s!

A little dated now (10 years old) but this book really opens your eyes to this topic...

You have expensive taste in books.  There wouldn't happen to be a Cliff Notes on this, would there? 😁

Question, unless a player has a support staff of HUNDREDS from elementary school thru high school and then into college, which player deserves to make millions while that support staff gets ZERO?

I doubt any of these college players are going to be making millions. If it does, it's only going to be the Tim Tebows of the world.

Secondly, that is the beauty of the free market. You or I dont get to decide who gets paid. If somebody else determines that someone is doing something valuable for them, they have the right to pay them. Welcome to America. If you want rules set up to determine who gets paid what's fair, vote for socialism. I hear it's getting a lot of excitement these days.

Not really.  My daughter had to read it for a sports business class and she shared it with me.  Not sure why it's so expensive unless it's considered a college text book which as we all know are the biggest ripoffs.

Is it really amateur if everyone else associated with it is being paid multiple hundreds of thousands into millions of dollars per year.

I’m starting to wonder if this will help big city TV market schools like USF? Maybe it will propel the big city conferences like the AAC to elite status?
