Say what you will about McNeese talent, but they had the team 1st thing going.  They executed their game plan and it resulted in a beatdown of a USF team in disarray.  If Michigan St is having their own difficulties deciding on personnel and sorting through issues, they could be vulnerable much like we were week 1.  23 points is an absurd spread and being driven by Joe Q Public's betting, I doubt anyone in the know would lay those points to take a team with no clear QB and a questionable offense.  Can USF's defense stay disciplined?

I'm not betting on it.

 

defense definitely played poorly but McNeese had 5 possessions start on average inside our 30. they had a 78 yard pass play. really they only had 2 sustained drives. hopefully they can get their mojo back this week.

If and "if" we can get to Maxwell, this could be very interesting. State didn't have a great nor a good game against Western and if you take away the two defensive scores, Western is in that game. I guess that's why the game is played, who knows what will happen but I will be there to support the team despite growing up a State fan.

I put decent money on USF taking the points and $50 on the +1300 money line. Do I expect USF to win? No but as long as its a slug fest like I anticipate I come away good and if we pull off the upset I come out amazing.

With Eveld in there I think we have a good chance to beat that spread. If Cliett can infect the rest of our D with a desire to play hard on every down, we could even win!

I see a lot of "ifs" on the defense's desire.  I just wanted to point out how sad that is in comparison to the days of future NFL defenders at every position.

I'll be at Capogna's Saturday with no expectations. Gonna drink some beer, eat some wings, and watch some football.
