Sterlin Gilbert is a decent OC - he was unfortunately bamboozled by the Charlie Strong era (which The Daily Stampede will never own up due to their politics). He's 56th in the country in offense at Syracuse - considering how far that program had fallen, that's quite the improvement. Syracuse was 1-10 last year in Gilbert's first season as OC (with no Spring practices). This year, they're 5-4.

In his one season at McNeese State as the HC prior to leaving for Syracuse as their OC, they improved on their record from the year before (they won one more game and were over .500). McNeese State has since turned into an under .500 team the last two years.

But hey, let's blame everything on Gilbert.

Todd Grantham would be a tremendous upgrade right now. He literally turned down a NFL DC spot to stay at UF only to fall on his sword. The NFL isn't perfect, however I would take a potential NFL hire over what we're witnessing now.

That guy has had more stops as a coach than a bus going cross country. I am sure another SEC school will pick him up but not as a DC.

Muschamp is just a defensive analyst at Georgia right now. I’d feel pretty good about him leading our defense
