  1. I’m $998M away… I still have hope to get there one day.
  2. We're not going to be able to pay Rahim enough to stay at USF long term. However most of us have been watching this program for the latter part of 20+ years and we would be hard pressed to say there has been a better coached team in our history. Pay the man - make the buyout extremely high - enjoy the fruits of someone that can coach where the players actually understand the concept of team ball.
  3. Money talks... and Miami has the type of money that could potentially sway a successful Coach. It's been a great run - either way, he's earned a following and I hope he makes a decision that is best for him and his family. He will always be a Bull IMO regardless.
  4. I might have slept outside of the Sun Dome for a few months in 2001 - memories . Unfortunately, the seats behind the opposing team’s bench were not for students after the Death Row days. I had some good times behind the basket - however I would have paid a mint to have been located directly behind the opposing team’s bench when I was a student at USF. I had good size then and I lacked a filter. It would have made for some interesting times behind Huggybear i still don’t think the city of Cincinnati fully recovered when they saw a bunch of us walking around in downtown Cincinnati wearing Covington jail jumpsuits with our fake gold teeth and big gold chains. The fact Lee Roy Selmon Sr. enjoyed our poor taste in humor is quite a nice memory for me. You can’t make jokes anymore like that without society canceling you out. However that Cinci team was a real class act. They made Aaron Hernandez look like a choir boy.
  5. That’s the type of story that makes me want to donate money to the program. Interesting how things have changed over the last four years. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Time to take UAB to the motherfuc*en wood shed and skull ***** those bitc*es back to the ****hole known as Birmingham. Go Bulls…
  7. Terrible way to pass away. May his family be at peace in their loss.
  8. Reggie Kohn would definitely appreciate the range our team has shown from behind the arc. Kohn was an excellent leader on the court and just a good dude in general - he also dated one of the hottest chicks on campus if I recall correctly. If anyone sees Reggie out and about, give him my best from GreenbergOpolis.
  9. Considering BYU stunned #7 KU at the Fogg, if BYU beats TCU on Saturday, BYU is going to be ranked going into next week - no getting around it. Every ranked team has won this week (as of Wednesday morning). #24 UF has a tough matchup this weekend against #18 USC. If they win tonight against Mizzou and Saturday against USC, they're not getting bumped out. Highly unlikely that USC would drop from #18 to #26 with six losses. #23 Gonzaga has the toughest schedule this week, facing a tough unranked USF squad on the road on Thursday and then they get #17 Saint Mary's on the road on Saturday. We need USF to beat Gonzaga to ensure our place in the polls. Gonzaga wins both games, they're not moving. #21 Dayton has a tough game Friday against Loyola Chicago - maybe Loyola Chicago can get some Divine intervention to give us some help. If every other ranked teams from #20 to #24 take care of business, we're going to get bumped out unceremoniously. **** Mormons!
  10. That's mind blowing to me that Larry Scott has a son that is coaching. He literally is the spitting image of the Larry I remember playing with 23 years ago. It seems like time stood still - but in reality, that makes Bulliever really f'en old... and Smazza is still banging younger broads in LA. Respect.
  11. Bubble Watch 2024: Brace yourself for NCAA tournament drama - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM The Bulls are ranked in the AP Top 25 for the first time in program history. They're also not (currently) in Bubble Watch. Two things can be true at once. This week, South Florida broke into the men's AP Top 25. With good reason. Anyone who watched the Bulls defeat Florida Atlantic and SMU on consecutive Sundays knows USF is playing like a top-25 team. Amir Abdur-Rahim's team has won 13 straight. At 21-5 and 14-1 in American play, the Bulls have already clinched at least a share of the conference's regular-season title. Yet South Florida is nowhere to be found here at Bubble Watch. How can this be? On the measures the NCAA men's basketball committee uses to select the field, the Bulls are not yet at the same level as bubble teams. Then again, the margin between South Florida and the bubble has been shrinking for weeks. The strongest portions of USF's profile are its résumé metrics. NCAA-approved rankings such as strength of record and KPI both show the Bulls in the 60s or even in the 50s, depending on the day. These aren't stellar rankings, perhaps, but, for a team that suffered early-season losses at home to Maine and Central Michigan, they're impressive nonetheless. Conversely, South Florida is less competitive with bubble rivals in measures of team strength. Earlier this month, Bubble Watch chronicled the daunting selection odds traditionally faced by teams below the mid-50s in the NET rankings. The Bulls are in the 80s in the NET and in the 90s at KenPom. Still, Rutgers wrangled an at-large bid from the committee in 2022 despite a NET ranking of 77. If South Florida keeps winning, it can at least equal the Scarlet Knights on this criterion. Since the start of February, the Bulls have already raised their NET ranking by more than 30 spots. By "keep winning," by the way, Bubble Watch recommends USF keep doing so all the way to the finals of the American tournament. On this subject, Abdur-Rahim might consider texting either Utah coach Craig Smith or VCU coach Ryan Odom for advice. Smith and Odom were the head coaches at Utah State in the 2021 and 2023 tournaments, respectively. In both years, the Aggies stormed into March on win streaks that carried them all the way to the Mountain West tournament finals. In both years, USU lost in the conference tournament finals to San Diego State. Nevertheless, the Aggies earned double-digit seeds in both brackets. That's the kind of run that South Florida is on now. That's the kind of run the Bulls will need to extend to earn an at-large bid. Or, who knows, USF might just take the committee out of this question entirely and win the automatic bid. Either way, at 13 wins in a row and counting, South Florida is fast approaching bubble status. Here is our current projection of the bubble: Teams from traditional one-bid conferences: 22 Locks: 26 teams The bubble: 30 teams for 19 available spots Should be in: 10 teams Work to do: 20 teams

  13. NR... Never ranked in our history. What a great day! Go Bulls!
  14. More time to sober up... perfectly fine with this.
  15. In both polls, everyone ranked from 20 to 25 took at least one L this week with ISU taking two L's. Gonzaga, WSU, UF, Grand Canyon and SDSU all took care of business. Clemson and New Mexico took an L. TAMU took two losses. This bodes well for us slipping in at 25. I would assume when we were up by 25-points with just under nine minutes left, most pundits switched the game off. Just my two cents...
  16. Was it louder than the UF game in 2001? Even while taking a L that day, the loudness of the Dome rivaled the WVU game when the INT was returned for six.
  17. We’ll need some profit to pay for the new stadium. However who would have known Pancho would have been a prophet with men’s hoops this season? Needless to say, looking forward to seeing them play UTSA in three days in San Antonio. Come and take it Bulls!
  18. It’s been quite sometime since we’ve seen this type of enthusiasm from our students. If I had a Time Machine, I would take you back to a few moments in 2001 where the Sun Dome was fire - however I’d rather you live in the moment. Don’t let this moment die though. What you do though is talk to some of those students in your class this morning and bring one or two of those students to the next game. If you really have a set of balls, you find the hottest girl in your class and you convince her to come to the game. Before you know it, the Sun Dome has 10K people for a game - you’re wrecked before the game even starts because you’ve been doing keg stands all night in the Sun Dome parking lot… and maybe that hot girl decides to do some charity and throws you a boobie or two. This might have happened a few times during the 2001 season. Trust me… this is why we really go to college. You’ll always have time to work and make a bunch of money. Live in this moment.
  19. Quality win. Looking forward to seeing them in SA when they play UTSA at the end of the month. Bought my tickets a few months ago. Would be excellent if they’re still on the current streak. This is even more unexpected than our football team turning the corner.
  20. I'd still be worried about more dominoes falling and Golesh getting poached before the Spring by a P5 school. Arizona just lost their coach. It only takes a knowledgable AD to recognize the instant results we had from Golesh - coupled with the fact most fans will favor a fast paced offensive style. It'll be interesting watching the next couple of weeks play out. If I were in Golesh's shoes, I would ride Brown's skills for another season and have a better chance of getting a desired destination as a HC vice one where they are trying to have you salvage their program. I doubt we'll see much of a dropoff at Alabama. I'd be willing to say that Alabama just walked into another great coach that will make people not dwell on Saban's depature like they did when Bear Bryant left - DeBoer's track record speaks volumes already. The guy wins everywhere he goes - and now he has the talent of the country's richest football powerhouse to back him up.
  21. My thoughts on Brian Battie... I've had similar scenarios with workers at my company. I believe every situation is unique. I lost my best employee last year - he called me back after spending eight months on his own. Bringing him back was the best decision I could have made for multiple reasons. The other employees realized quickly that you're not guaranteed success when you leave and maybe their current landing spot isn't so bad after all. From my perspective, Battie kept his head down and did the right things when he played here. He maintained a low profile. He was well respected among his peers and around the community in general. I believe bringing him back would benefit Golesh due to Battie's personality. Battie was a step ahead of everyone on the field at USF. Battie could very well deliver the message that would resonate with other players in the locker room - making the switch even with the immense amount of talent he possessed did not end well and was detrimental to his future. Brian's parents are USF grads... he'll always be a Bull to me. I wish Golesh had taken longer to consider this decision assuming there is truth to Battie wanting to come back. I do understand Golesh's decision though... being a bit older, I try to look at the big picture from multiple lenses (and I'm sure Golesh has as well).
  22. Maybe I'm cheap with respect to some things. When I see $10K leave the bank account, my cheeks pucker just a bit tighter. I guess it's human nature. I'm considering retiring in two years when my wife finishes her last two years in the Army, however with four young kids, I really still struggle to grasp what is enough money "banked per se" to walk away from a high stress, high paying job in today's environment? My two year old boy already believes he's Juan Soto when he sees a baseball bat (he doesn't know who Juan Soto is yet), and a good part of me would like to see if I should go super dad like Todd Marinovich's pops did with him to give him every opportunity to succeed in a sport he naturally gravitates too. The other part of me saw my oldest daughter got her first "B" on her report card yesterday and I realized I'm not home enough presently to ensure that doesn't happen again. She's in third grade, however just like we're talking about Golesh setting the bar by not allowing Brian Battie to come back, I'm setting the bar with my daughter that B's aren't acceptable. Parenting is tough... those of you with kids already in college - congratulations on surviving the every day struggle.
  23. The athletic genes are there with both parents playing D1 sports... glad USF is inheriting part of that gene pool.
  24. His mom still looks like she can play tennis for USF. Wonder if his sister is another rising star that will land at USF?
  25. Pushing the opening back a year potentially means Brown never gets an opportunity to play in the OCS. Tragic… he would be a senior in 2026 - by his senior year, we should be a powerhouse where the lure of the stadium would only help our visibility.
