Agreed! In particular, there needs to be a “leader” who steps up with not only fluffy statements but a plan (5 year, 10 year, or whatever). Then put the plan in action (visting donors, alumni, financial institutions, etc.) This needs to be this persons “only” job, nothing more. The clock is ticking, if nothing is done then we should go to the options you stated.

Interesting article, especially given it was in Forbes. It was absolutely fair with criticisms as well as not denying what really happened.  There are many ECU and some UCF fans which say some are "making it up" that USF did at one time have a respectable attendance. 

Sure would be nice if the locals wrote fair pieces like this rather than just pieces of .....

Yeah.  You know, the old SEC never had that many teams and yet, somehow, Florida would go years without having to deal with Alabama in football. I would imagine such an arrangement may make it to where some conference members rarely see each other in football.

I think a merger is our only hope, the b12 really screwed us over with their open ended expansion announcement. No one of value is paying an exit fee to then join a conference that they would then have to pay another $10 million exit fee to just to hopefully announce they are immediately leaving to join the B12, there may not be a great chance of it but the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze if you think that could happen to you.

Also, that doesn’t mean that App State wouldn’t leave. Then throw a dart at a map of the contiguous US and whatever you hit is team number 4.
