Clearly they don't care what the other fans will do. They want every last dollar they can get and sharing with lesser programs is not in their interest.

Perhaps those left over will start their own championship model. Something similar to D2. Personally I wouldn't mind that at all.

I completely agree, I’ve been saying this for years. I get that football is king, but at this point, football is not for everyone; money has ensured that.  Like you said, basketball at least gives everyone a chance.

just as we gained entry into the watered down version of the Big East to garner "BCS" conference notoriety, we will eventually find our way into the Big 12. And without fail -- you can expect our new league to suddenly have a mass exit of the bigger teams to some other TRUE power 5 (4/3?) conference and the relegation yet again to the second tier BS division.

How many times will it take to realize that the old big teams are RIGGING this system to keep everyone but the select club OUT?

 

Regardless - nothing ANY of us can do about it. Kind of sad to even think about it.
