As long as those schools keep UNC happy

Why is UNC the glue that holds the ACC together? I am not understanding this

My guess: What Will Happen

  • Florida State will go to the Big Ten
  • Clemson will go to the SEC

That leaves both conferences with odd numbers.

At that point, I think one of them grabs North Carolina, the other picks up Kansas - after which the "P2" leagues  immediately start working on how they'll squeeze more money out of March Madness...

probably BS… I think this guy has said similar things about other programs.

I get the feeling there is going to be A LOT more shifting & adjustment before the dust settles.

schools that seem stable & settled are getting thrown into all kinds of 4 dimensional chess maneuvering.

my only concern is that USF catch a ride on ANY of these conferences & gets out of the AAC & imo *any* movement at all is good movement as status quo/no movement is the one thing that guarantees USF goes nowhere:

It sure would be nice to get an olive branch while we have our best coaches on staff in the big 2 sports.

Interesting new detail - the B12 has their T1 rights with FOX and ESPN. With the 4C additions, ESPN provided full pro-rata, but FOX did not. Each B12 school will be receiving a slight decrease in payout this year to make up for FOX difference for those 4. How much is a decrease? Dunno, maybe $500,000/school? $1MM? Probably not a ton but notable regardless. Does anyone know if the B12 has a yearly escalator like the ACC's 4.5%? If so, that might make up the difference alone.

And what of the Big 12? The country’s most valuable basketball conference has an aggressive commissioner, Brett Yormark, whose league’s poaching of four schools contributed to the Pac-12’s collapse. However, Big 12 programs already are seeing a reduction in distribution from that expansion. They won’t withstand more. Can Yormark maneuver a way to gather more funds? Is there appetite for further expansion East?

Isn't that interesting!  Imagine if that was the ACC.  It would be HUGE news.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
