Could this be UT and OU’s end game?

Grant the Longhorns and Sooners an additional half-share annually (1.5 shares each), bumping their payouts to approximately $56 million per year. The other eight schools would decrease their payouts accordingly. Big 12 schools currently average $37 million in annual TV rights earnings, including revenue from bowl games and the NCAA Tournament.

Like I said, greed has broken college sports.   Those numbers are mind boggling

The whole thing is just nonsense. We all know it’s heading for four “super” conferences that will be college sports, so let’s just get it over with already. SEC, ACC, Big Ten, PAC 12 - make your 20 picks, set up your divisions and let’s finish this charade.

For our sake, we’d better hope it’s 20 teams per league at this point, because if it’s only 16 per (or even 18) we may be on the outside looking in as the ACC (plus FSU and UM) probably doesn’t want (or need) a third Florida school and we certainly don’t fit the SEC profile.

We may not even be in with 20 per league.

That being said, hope for the best and expect the worst. The chips will probably fall somewhere in between. No one on this board, except for @wesleywillis, knows what is going to happen.

Help us @wesleywillis, you’re our only hope!

What a shame.  I wonder if anyone has done analysis on what will happen to the audience if they turn it into the semi-pro big name school only fetish that ESPN has.  Will fewer people care about the pay wall and the whole thing just becomes a stupid bubble?  More and more people are just cord cutting anyway.  Which eyeballs will see the big pharma and ugly wedge car crossover SUV political commercials needed to fuel Nick Saban's bank account?  Seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot pretending that the NCAA is the NFL in terms of fan loyalty...

Interesting take from a Texas point of view

The Big 12 is likely losing the rest of their teams if Texas and Oklahoma go to the SEC. Where will they go?

I would be happy with this outcome.

It would be cool to have WVU again, but I am bummed about the TCU assessment.  They have them going PAC.

I am not happy with this outcome.  Maybe if we simultaneously add a Boise.

Lots of pure speculation mixed with consternation for most folks.
