Defense somehow held them to 14 points after the horrible first quarter.  

If we can get any sort of defense with this offense we could start winning some games.

We also gotta start games way stronger.

Our defense isnt perfect, but they play better and is more rested when the offense actually has drives that last more than 1 minute.

Offense kept the ball for over half of the 3rd quarter and then had an 18 play drive for the last TD.  A blocked FG helped as well.  Offense is going to have to carry this team for the foreseeable future

Progress in the 2nd half. The first half made it seem like another NC State game. But the 2nd half was another story. I wanted to see progress this game and at least on offense I saw it. I feel much better about the upcoming Temple and Tulsa games. I still think SMU is a loss next Saturday.

The offense possessing the ball for essentially the entire second half had a lot to do with it. Also, special teams. They make that FG and the game is over.

Giving up 21 points in the 1st quarter was pathetic. They didn’t give up as much in the 2nd half because the offense held the ball for 75% of it.

Exactly. When the offense has a drive that last longer than 1 minute, you actually - 

1. Keep the ball from the other team's offense

2. Give your defense a rest.
