I repeat ACADEMICS ie shared research is what gets us  chosen to move up to a p5 conference. All the schools who moved up during the last conference expansion are quality academic schools as we are now ,UCF is not even close to our academic class. ,  just a fact.

Because they sure weren't all football powerhouses.

. . . about how we’ve gotten to the current state of our “rivalry” with Oviedo Community College. For the better part of 40 years, we dominated this matchup in nearly every sport, with a few exceptions, yet somehow it is now lopsided in their favor. Is it as simple as a series of bad hires by us and good ones by them? Is it a matter of a different focus in resources - ours on the academic side and theirs in athletics?

We should spend ALL the money on athletics...academics is highly overrated.

Kelly needs find another $15M-$20M a year annually for the athletic budget for us to compete at the highest level in the G5 and position us for inclusion when the P5 expands again in 2025.

I think a helpful thread here would be around how does the university raise that kind of money on an annual basis, which would essentially be a 33% increase over current revenues?

Heard last night - did not talk numbers - that we had our best year in fund raising last year.  Let's hope that trend continues.  It seems we have the right AD and the right football coach to advance things.  Now we need alums to step up.

That's pretty weak.  And considering that you are required to make one to get season tickets, even weaker.

Do we know the % of all alumni who have ever made a donation to USF ever (not just athletics, but any USF fund --academics, alumni association, etc.)?

He didn't share or have that information, but I'd imagine someone within the university or alumni association must know.

I would imagine the alumni association knows. They track all kinds of data.  I know they track by age group.

And if you are talking ALL alumni, you are talking folks that graduated long before football was a thing.

Yes, but also they have capitalized on every big opportunity in recent history and we totally blow it.  They have also invested in football, even though we mock them for it.

Momentum is fickle though!
