I really don't consider myself a better fan than you or others.  We're retired and have the opportunity to go to more events than some people.

Well I consider you a better fan than most that are actually alumni, myself included. All joking aside I honestly appreciate you and you family’s dedication to USF.

. . . about how we’ve gotten to the current state of our “rivalry” with Oviedo Community College. For the better part of 40 years, we dominated this matchup in nearly every sport, with a few exceptions, yet somehow it is now lopsided in their favor. Is it as simple as a series of bad hires by us and good ones by them? Is it a matter of a different focus in resources - ours on the academic side and theirs in athletics?

Judy put her money in academics and neglected athletics for years. Academics matter more at universities, but athletics bring media exposure and potential extra revenue when ran effectively.  Now we have to build the athletic program from the ground.

The good news is that this can be done much quicker than academic achievements. The problem we have now, of course, is $. But it looks like we have a salesman who can also coach and Kelly is knocking on doors.

I agree academics  achievements take time and research, and athletic achievements can be made in less than 10 years. :)

True but the rise in academic status is amazing.  I am quite proud.  All it takes is for some leaders like Scott to come in here and start firing up the fans and actually care.
