I think an ideal situation at this time is to get an up and coming coordinator from a P5 school and hire some USF alums as position coaches.  This way, if the new HC is successful and leaves, you have a pool of USF guys to look at.

Yeah as totally unrealistic as it is, my numero uno is the original CJL. Followed closely behind is CWT. Both have already won here. Would James Coley come here? He went to MIami for HS has been coordinating for the Dolphins, the Hurricanes and the Seminoles so he's got some recruiting rep and oh btw, Georgia is not to shabby of a team.... I guess Lane Kiffin would be fun because he has a Charlie Weis as his OC...(not the Charlie Wies i'm thinking).

Football scoop update.

General synopsis- Leading candidates around the coaching circle is Tags, Elliot and Scott. it mentions Tags ties here and really no reason for the other two to be interested. MK's loose association as the CPF official in charge of the ACC as the only connection.

Scott, Coley, and Elliot should be among the first calls made.

Id take a chance on Clemson coordinator (assuming he won’t try to use pro block schemes) before Taggart.

But Clemson has huge lineman and a pro-QB. So I’m not sure that style is a good fit.

When it comes to Clemson people.

Jeff Scott > Tony Elliot.

Scott is the recruiting coordinator for the Tigers.

Tags already betrayed his ties.  What’s left?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
