Could it hurt vs Wisconsin we shall see.  But these players have all season to get better. As the rough stretch of conference play is atleast not till November.

What happened to all the junior and senior linebackers?  I remember Cherry left but not sure why we are so young at the position.

Trey Laing played DE and was faster than the fat kid playing OT in front of him. Stats don't always translate from different levels because talent you play against is better. But again he did not play LB he played DE so there is a learning curve and he weighs like 214 lbs.

17.5 sacks, 25.0 tackles for loss.......either his competition were all junior high football teams  or there is a chance he might actually have some kind of tackling skills. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt

So if Sawtelle graduated last year who would the D rely on for leadership? Sawtelle was no Sanchez and he was going to get limited snaps due to the addition of Macon.

Replacing Sawtelle’s leadership on the field will be no easy task. Make no mistake by that. I do think there are some veterans at other positions that can help pick up some of that slack. Most notably Reaves, Livingstone and Hampton. I also get the sense that Sails has brought an energy to this team that has been missing. While his skill set is pretty darn good, the energy he brings to the defense might be the most valuable aspect of his game.

Wont be as bad as last year considering the DL is bigger and we're deeper there too. As long as Macon stays healthy we should be ok.

I agree. From what I see online and social media, the other players seem to like him a lot. I think the team as a whole has so much more chemistry this year.

USF has always had depth issues. Nothing new.

Did Sawtelle's dog take a crap in your yard or something?
