However he is the best pure passer and he could easily be a second or third round pick, if not late-first. 1 hour ago, michibull said: I understand your sentiment; QF was a GREAT "football player", as a pure quarterback, he was just good; he had a good arm but couldn't make the NFL throws consistently. This is in no way a slight against him, he is arguably the best player in USF history and one of the best people we have had, and that's a rare combination. Definition of quarterback 1 : an offensive back in football who usually lines up behind the center, calls the signals, and directs the offensive play of the team 2 : one who directs and leads I don't get those that grade a qb primarily on throwing the ball ... Q was a good thrower but a GREAT quarterback while for USF.

I still think we got a lottery ticket when we got him. He's a GAMER... you can't coach that into a player and he's always had it. QF is just special but if barnettt continues to play with a heart of a lion, he might very well be at the top of the list. Barnett is a 6'5" Grothe imho. Same, but I'm really excited about the potential for this team for the next couple years. You never know what could happen...

He does seem to have the “It factor”. He showed some grit on the running plays too. The O-Line needs to keep him healthy!

Q was a good thrower but a GREAT quarterback while for USF. Umm, this is a weak definition. According to this, Trent Dilfer was a great QB, he lined up behind center, made signals, called plays and directed and lead the offensive and won a Super Bowl; I cannot argue with you that QF was an excellent QB at USF, but in my opinion, that's where it stops. We use greatness too liberally in today's sports talk. There are reasons why he is in the NFL as a running back and not a quarterback and it's not just his height. QF is an amazing leader, athlete and person. I would put him in the same category as Tim Tebow, a great leader and football player who could will their team to a win, as for great quarterback, I can not agree to that. Again, I am not taking anything away from QF, an all time great football player for sure and I will always be a fan of his.
