If social media is any sign, USF's fan base is gradually melting down over the way its Heisman candidate, QB Quinton Flowers, has been employed -- or under-employed -- through two games.

Charlie Strong's reaction to the criticism: Bulls tickets are being under-utilized also.

When asked Tuesday about the general panic surrounding his offense and its use of Flowers, Strong first took a subtle jab at fans before responding.

Not as bad as I waa expecting. The gist of it is we have to the what the the defense gives us. You can't get the ball to Johnson when they've game planned for it. You can't run flowers when they've practiced stopping the run all week.

Players around those two have to make plays in odder to free them up. If they don't make plays, we look like we're not ourselves.

That's fine, when you play a real team. This was Stony Brook vs the 19th best team in the nation, we should have been able to oppose our will on them in any way we saw fit.

While the OL struggled, so did QF.  He played an average game at best.  There were a few drops but it was more about QF not hitting his receivers or giving them good throws.  He was lucky MVS caught that TD pass, clearly behind him.  The interception killed one of the better drives up to that point too.

That's a pretty weak jab.  I hesitate to really even call it a jab.

If he's so concerned about fans ... open up the offense.  I don't think it's fair to expect the GCO but come on ... let's make it fun to watch.  Last two weeks haven't been pretty at all.

His responsibility to put a product on the field that people can get excited about, and will want to come to stadium.

BINGO!

What happened to a play in less than 20 seconds... EVERYTIME?

There are only 18,000 of us that will show up for the sleep fest he has put on the field so far.

I guess the teams last year didn't have a plan to stop QF.

Say what you want about the offense but we are a lot easier to game plan for without Mack and Adams no matter what offense we are running.

Opening up the offense doesn't do a **** thing if they're not executing the plays .... which obviously is his responsibility also .... but the play calling was not the problem on Saturday.
