so this debate will supplant that one, and No incumbent is safe? Makes sense. Daniels wasn't safe, and Flowers may be better than him so why should he be safe?

Wasn't much drop off when bench came in...depth is a good thing to have.

I never said it was a permanent move- just a way to get the kid on the field and contributing. He's still the backup QB whichever one it is-- and having more skills than just QB only helps them round out their resume if they one day want to check out of the NFL. We did this with several guy in the past-- placed them as receivers when they were second string QBs so they could get playing time. You make it sound like they suddenly no longer can play the position just because you have them running some pass routes in addition to working with the group of QBs

I get it, but I think it's very hard to truly develop, practice, and gameplan as a QB while you are giving attention to another position. If we end up with an embarrassment of riches at the QB position in a year or two, maybe my thoughts would change, but we aren't there yet.

I thought Landi and Daniels were different style QBs to begin with where my understanding is that AW and Flowers have similar styles.

Regardless-- you guys are really nitpicking the crap out of my statement-- I guess we should just let whoever isn't starting rot on the bench. Let's be a narrow minded as possible since there is no possible way to look at a situation. "He worked out a little with the receivers group today-- oh well-- guess he can never QB again. Nobody is trying to nitpick, and I don't think anyone said anything about tainted goods. I just think it's extraordinarily difficult to play QB at a high level in the FBS, and it's even harder when you are devoting time and attention to another position as well.
