We turn the ball over too much. We are terrible on the defensive boards. Our on ball defense leaves a lot to be desired. Our shooting is streaky at best.

And we are stupid resilient.

So far.

Lol come on guys, we are already talking about him doing well enough for him to leave. Its 5 games in. Lets bring it down a notch

cant envision any scenario COA is a bust. All the dude knows is success, workin with that find-a-way-to-win swagger god given fr the NY streets.

Also, Calipari pedigree, recruiting prowess, set-up-to-win conference, i.e., poised to "turn around a historically bad program"

When he pans out, his stock will be higher than most

All tht said, I fully understand dynamics of ncaam coaching carousel far different from ncaaf. Maybe he'll get comfy and turn us into a butler/Xavier/gonzag..

One can dream

Not to hijack the thread and want to keep it on hoops, but that sounds so much like Taggart recruiting and the Harbaugh pedigree.

Yeah, except so far COA is proving his pedigree translates to actually being a good head coach.

CWT would've lost to Flagler.

I think COA was a great hire and will do wonders for this program, but let's ease off the pedal some as to where this team is.

I have been around hoops for a long time. This team deserves support right now.  If anyone is on the fence about getting season tickets (still possible) or partial season tickets.  Get them and support a positive growing sport at USF in a very nice on-campus stadium.

For those that wonder what to do with extra tix, it's very easy now days to email them to anyone (within minutes) or even put them on stub hub.  I live in Jacksonville Beach and have 10 season tix for football and 4 for hoops.  I don't have a problem getting them to people.  Last night, I gave them to a college friend and it was his first trip back to the new Sun Dome and the reply I got was that "it far exceeded my expectations".

Really???. ..What's the latest date season tix can be purchased?

Because in some way doing so will hurt the team? Where is the harm? If it bothers you so much, do not participate in it but at the same time do not discourage others from taking part in it. The USF fan base needs something to get excited about and what better than a 4-1 basketball team that is basically a clean slate, with regard to the personnel and playing style, from the past years of disappointment.

It's okay to just enjoy it, let down your guard. There's no reason to be so serious about it, it's only a game. Have some fun and allow others to do the same.

Well, considering that we play UCF in football on Friday, I'm already looking at our conference basketball games with them.

Tonight, Davidson won @UCF 95-69. So, regardless of how we do in FB, it's good to know.

Unfortunately you are spot on with all of those.  I'll bet we had only 1/2 dozen or so clean defensive rebounds all game.  It seemed that every loose/contested ball ended up in the hands of a Hofstra player.  Although I've enjoyed the nice start by the team I have no delusions of an NCAA bid.  An NIT invite would be great but I'm not expecting that either.   Hope to see them be competitive in most games as we move into conference play.

But COA can coach and if his recruiting holds I believe we are in good hands.

One note, I was surprised to hear that it was Rouca who convinced him to put in Perry at the end of the game.  At the first pregame talk in the Arena Club he said that Strickland would be in his, COA's, ear for offense.  Guess it isn't an exclusive type thing.

Love the attitude. Power up!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
