You'll all be surprised to hear that none other than JOSH HEATH is leading the nation in assisf to turnover ratio. He's currently sitting at #1 with 18 assists and only 1 turnover for Georgia Tech through 3 games. Good for him!

Didn't realize had gotten a waiver to play this year ... Was he the only one, due to coach/father/son thing?

Funny, the ESPN announcer doing last night's game, Mark Wise, who started off sounding critical of USF's team...he used to coach USF basketball team as an assistant for Lee Rose back in 1980s?  Wise's wife is the UF volleyball team head coach.

I didn't know Wise was on Rose's staff. Interesting.

He's been very pro-USF in the past; I think he liked Stan.

However, during the Hofstra game, he was very critical. Nothing USF did was good enough.

We won. That's all that matters.

I'm glad they let him play and not sit out. I'm sure it was tough on him, with all that went down. Good for him. And good for Stan to be working, too. Everything worked out for everybody. That's what I like to see.

Not going to jump into expectations, but I will admit that this team had me watching till the very end of the last two games.

Hofstra is an "upper mid-level" team?  Their RPI is 126 and ours is 89.  Maryland football is akin to Hofstra hoops?  Hahahahahahahahaha!  They suck and we beat them by 1 at home coming from behind.

No comparison to football.  I'm speaking of hoops.

we were also 4 point favorites. Some people on this board are delusional.

Coulda sworn we were 10-point dogs in that game

FWIW, ESPN has USF RPI #40.

A come from behind win at home vs. a no body. This team will need to get much, much better in a hurry.

Blah, blah, blah....

I was talking about the Hofstra game not Maryland.

I was impressed with the win.  Last year with 3:00 on the clock being down by 11 this team would have fallen apart.  This year we had the mental fortitude to dig deep and pull out a win.  It wasn't pretty, no one would claim that not even Coach.  We have to cut down on the fouls for sure.  But this team has promise and for once I feel good about a major USF sports team.

Let me save you some time NC. A figment of weak imagination. No such thing.

Ah, I see. My fault for trying to understand your perspective. I won't try again.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
