Holtz went 5 - 7 in his 2nd year with Leavitt's guys. Holtz is 7 - 3 in his 2nd year with Dykes' guys with losses at OK and Auburn Dykes > Leavitt? Skippy was in over his head here, but is at home with his current competition. We should have made a run at Dykes. He is doing a decent job at Cal and they were in a rut similar to the one we were/are in. At least the game would fun to watch.

Difference is, for me, there was no hope for Holtz. And right now all I have is hope for Taggart teams.

Holtz teams had almost as many marquee wins in a season and a half that Leavitt did in his entire career.

Secondly, and most importantly, Leavitt did all the grunt work of creating a team from SCRATCH, and created a team that was exciting. Holtz got to reap the benefit of that work for a little while. I'm not happy at all about the job that Holtz did here. I have nothing against the guy, besides him putting forth a piss poor effort and was making bank (still is) doing it.
