Loosen up your criteria, Trip, you're making CSH appear on the level of CJL, which we all know is anathema. It's MY criteria, **** it, and I'll do what I want to with it! .... Hopefully no one is using this to make CSH appear anywhere close to CJL as far as USF football is concerned. I'd almost guarantee if Jim had been here for those particular marquee games, we still would have won them, but fact is that Skip was the coach and they're his wins. Then you have to put the win over Pittsburgh in 2001 with MB in there. No, I don't .... Pitt does not have the same panache when it comes to college football as the 5 mentioned. Psst, Microsoft disagrees: This was probably my favorite year in the series. Not sure why, I think it's because I really like recruiting in career mode. They were considered to be one of the top teams in the country and their fast breaking offense looked to be unstoppable. There was no reason to believe USF was going to win that game if you did not follow them. I have this on DVD and pull it out when I'm feeling discouraged soemtimes I understand why everyone has their favorites but this has to be mine. If I had to rank each individual team USF has defeated, I would have to put 2006 West Virginia at the top along with the fact that this game was on the road. Some national people thought that they should have been ranked 1 or 2 (before the USF game, of course).

Not to mention they had Wannstedt, a terrible coach, but arguably the greatest mustache in collegiate athletics.

They rank #24 to Clemson's #21 here http://www.winsipedia.com/ranking. Program wins that I would classify as good wins over traditional powers are against Notre Dame (Holtz), Clemson (Holtz), Miami (Holtz), Florida State (Leavitt), Auburn (Leavitt), and Pitt (Leavitt). The truth is Holtz won some big games but lost too many close games. He couldn't stick around with a 3 win season at a program that had been to 5 straight bowl games prior to his arrival and was getting used to winning year in and year out. Actually that's more than opinion, it's fact ... it's just that they don't have the same sizzle as Clemson when it comes to college football.
