Does anyone else see the irony in some of these comments?

Anybody remember "We want quality, not quantity"?

If we, The USF Football BULLS, are sooo much better, and have so much more to offer than___________, why aren't the other conferences knocking on JG's and DW's doors asking us to join them?

Just remember, you gotta start somewhere and you gotta spend some money to get there.

Attendance will be tough at 'Nova should they decide to join.

It shouldn't be that difficult when they play league teams such as Rutgers, UConn, Pitt, UConn and Syracuse.

Average attendance last year was ~9,000 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=12&ved=0CCAQFjABOAo&url=http%3A%2F%2Fgrfx.cstv.com%2Fphotos%2Fschools%2Fnova%2Fsports%2Fcpartners%2Fauto_pdf%2FISP2010-11Portfolio.pdf&rct=j&q=villanova%20football%20attendance%202010&ei=Wl9wTZSmFNKatwfzwqyEDw&usg=AFQjCNEYQJ4ydl_lxuqIWekGPATSINtcpA&cad=rja.  Stadium holds 12K.  Attendance will be a huge issue for years.

See page 10 of that brochure for the 9,150 attendance figure.

You can say what you want but attendance will be a non issue. PPL park holds 18,500 and can be configured to 22,000. Right now the support for the Union is such that, there are already plans to expand it to 30,000.

The NCAA minimum requirement is 15,000 once every 2 years. The traveling Rutgers and West Virginia fans alone will probably cover them but as mentioned, you also have SU, UConn & Pitt nearby.

If attendance was going to be a problem, then you rent a big stadium, i.e. Soilder Field, The Meadowlands, ect. and schedule ND or Penn State or Illinois or whomever and you are the "home team". Attendance problem solved for 2 seasons in one game. How do you think Lousiana Monroe and FAU can average 15,000?

Well I think the BE agrees with you. That is why I think they added TCU......Texas is in the South.

As far as Nova is concerned.....if they move their football up.....you can't really say they are being "added" because they have been members of the conference since 1980.

Now if there are ever to be teams #11 and #12.....I would bet ya they will also be from the South. Odds are probably against Temple and Buffalo.

Boy this is a post with less UCF trolls than any expansion post in a while. They must believe this is a done deal too. It's kind of a shame that they got their little hopes up. Nova was always the next choice after TCU because of their BB membership. All this conspiracy crap dies when they accept(whoops Mickey). Maybe they should get the Governor to let them join the ACC or SEC, after all that would be fair given that FSU and UF MUST be blocking their efforts to get in those conferences.

Anything that keeps Mickey Mouse U out of the BEAST is a good thing

They're not playing home games against Big East teams yet. Once they get those their attendance will easily rise.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
