Average attendance last year was ~9,000

Attendance will be a huge issue for years.

They're not playing home games against Big East teams yet. Once they get those their attendance will easily rise.

Rutgers is only like 70 miles away from villanova, I would think that game alone would cover the 15K. if not, WV is around 300 miles away, wouldn't be a bad road trip for a win.

I agree. Plus, Pitt has to have a good amount of fans that will go there as well.

it actually looks like cuse & uconn are closer than pitt, so they might have a good showing as well

cuse & uconn are about 245 miles away each

pitts about 315 - 330 miles away

philly is a huge market especially to promote BE basketball.  the synergy for BB will help with FB attendance and attention.

So people trying to spin this horrible addition (if it happens) are saying that a team that draws no one now while winning is going to all the sudden start drawing huge crowds to watch mediocre Rutgers or Cuse football? Philly will not ever support college football. Temple was kicked out after they never drew any crowds. Look at the attendance here. 30k in a winning year in a football mad area. You are dreaming if you think Nova will draw large crowds and not drag down the view of the league.

Most BCS conferences have their own "Villanovas" so I don't think it's as catastrophic as you're trying to make it out .... Plus, the view of the league already sucks. TCU will help that out, as will, hopefully, the other teams picking it up.
