But wait.....Pitt has issues with PPL Park. Thinks it's too small.

Another installment of "As the Big East Turns".

maybe David Beckham can do the coin flip in front of  a raucous crowd w/ vuvuzelas for a Thursday night game

Make fun all you want but PPL Park looks a helluvalot nicer than BHNFP ...

Why dont you worry about playing Tulane and Rice, and leave the big boy games up to the USF fans.

yeah for soccer, most college football fans would rather experience a gameday on a college campus over a soccer stadium parking lot or train station 20+ miles from that school's campus

Funny how USF gets heat for not wanting UCF in, but it looks like Pitt doesn't want Nova in.

It LOOKS a helluvalot nicer no matter what's played there ... and I'm betting they had water fountains from the get go.

Average attendance last year was ~9,000

Attendance will be a huge issue for years.

They're not playing home games against Big East teams yet. Once they get those their attendance will easily rise.

Yeah, USF's 300 traveling fans will make all the difference  ::)

That would be a game where I could see our traveling fan base have a better showing at. I'm pretty sure we have a decent alumni group in that area. bausfkid is up that way, so he may know more as to how many alumni are in that area.

That would be a game I would go to.

I've been to the last 3 games at Rutgers, about 60 miles north of Phila., and there aren't more than a few hundred at those games.  Maybe a few more the year we were #2.

That's funny because the Red River Classic and the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party are played at big Pro Sports Stadium's off campus and their fan bases (some of the biggest in the country) don't seem to mind. Actually, they seem to prefer it over just having a Home and Home at each team's on campus stadium. I wonder why that is?

water fountains can be fixed but you can't fix the apathy for college football in NE cities like Philly, especially w/ small private schools w/ small enrollments and limited long term fanbase growth ;D

that's one game a year, UF isn't going to play their other 7 home games in Jacksonville

Funny how it's Pitt doing this when they have their own attendance issues.
