Talley had to spend his entire military career in a classroom.
Talley holds a Ph.D. (Civil and Environmental Engineering) from Carnegie Mellon University, an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Oxford, an M.S.E. (Environmental Engineering and Science) from The Johns Hopkins University, an M.L.A. (Liberal Arts – History/Philosophy) from Washington University in St. Louis, an M.S.S. (Strategic Studies) from the U.S. Army War College, an M.A. (Religious Studies) from Assumption College, and a B.S. (Forestry - Natural Resource Management) from Louisiana State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) in Sustainability, and a Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE).

Yep, I want another academic lifer like a hole in the head, his resume could just as easily say a wimpy nerd.  Law has the job, I don’t for the most part like attorneys but she is one of us, and has a personality and for that I am excited, this other guy couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

At this point he can be from Mars, as long as he supports athletics is vital.

Our buddy Baker at TBT had an article today on the clown candidate who's one and only priority would have been getting USF into a P5. The article is just as big a joke as the candidate was ....... and was it just a coincidence that one of the P5's he throws out as an example was Utah?

It was a joke but his thoughts were coherent however simply unrealistic.  I just can’t figure out why he bothers to apply, has absolutely no chance and the very limited attention he gets is most people laughing at what a loser he is.

Read this one about the whiner that's a final candidate.

Jeffrey Talley had expressed concerns about the search process, but now says he’s competing for the job.

Gotta lay that groundwork for when he doesn't get the job... Blame the process.

I thought we were supposed to trust the process?

Dude has a great resume but his photo reminds me of a TV evangelist asking me to send money because God wants him to drive a Lamborghini.

Creepy. IMHO

Don’t underestimate this guy. You don’t get to be a Lieutenant General  (3-star for the civilians) without being an exceptional person.  As far as his career, he wasn’t just an academic or a staff officer. He is a Ranger School graduate, and they don’t just give those tabs away. Do some research, and you’ll find out how difficult that school is.

He commanded units at every rank to get promoted to the next level. His last assignment was the Chief of the Army Reserve (CAR), where he was responsible for 195,000 to 200,000 soldiers, with a budget in the Billions.  He may not familiar with local and state politics, but he knows how to operate in a political environment. As the CAR, he spent time on the Hill advocating for the Army Reserve. Unlike active duty types, reservists have to juggle two careers, so to be successful in both is an indicator of his abilities.  My spouse has attended Army-related conferences with his spouse, and she speaks highly of her. He would be smart enough to hire Rhea Law as a Special Assistant, and task her with building the OCS. I would be very happy if Law got the job, but Talley is a good choice also.

The panel hears from Jeffrey Talley, who once led the U.S. Army Reserve, and Rhea Law, USF’s interim president since August.
