Transfer rankings are silly. Place no belief in outcome based on those.

You get a diamond in the rough that needed a spot to shine or someone else's problem. I am not sure how you evaluate it but all the young transfers we got from p5 programs had more talent coming out high school than anyone we recruited out of HS in the last 4 years.

Why did the pandemic only affect CJS?  How did all the other programs somehow manage it?

If would have preferred another year before tossing him a new deal but who knows what the contact has loaded in it.

It's not apples to apples. He inherited a program that was literally in shambles from the prior coach. This argument, which I have seen made by others, completely ignores the reality of the situation.

I guess I'm just assuming the objective is somewhere higher than 1 win over fbs teams in his 2 years.

The phrase was EVERY objective... As in every single one... We all assume that winning games is on that list... but we don't know that for certain... for example, it could be -- turn around the locker room first, then worry about wins... it could be build a relationship with the community to help with donations...

Now, I can say that my company's objectives were changed rather dramatically in 2020 and 2021... to the point where "winning" wasn't as important as it was previously (and will be again)... why is it such a big deal to think CJS has been given a mulligan on 2020 and possibly 2021?

They had better mixtapes perhaps.  If it didnt come to fruition there, it’s unlikely to here.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
