Hard to imagine you guys saying this was a good read. Quick perusal and the guy talked about our defensive scheme and I missed him mentioning  firing the DC. Maybe it was there and I missed it.

Also, Willie “Taggert.”
Bush league journalism at best.

Tyrie McCants has alluded to this on twitter, Willie was willing to stay if USF would match the contract Oregon was offering

Willie has a losing record overall in his career, (66-73) but **** that guy is good at getting big money from Oregon and Fsu. Don't Hate the player , hate the game. HE has loads of cash and is set for life. Maybe the turnover backpack was alluding to duffel bag boys full of cash for the future.

I do like this statement.

Strong was such a disaster that it feels like we have been putrid forever.  Maybe USF should have tried to match whatever Oregon offered Taggert.  Then we might have been offered a seat in the Big 12 instead of being shut out.  It would have been worth the money.

He would have left anyway

Not buying he would have stayed though

Good article but fail to credit photographers with the shots especially the one with sails because that's my shot.

Agree. I think the headline and premise of the story are correct, but a ton of comments that are head scratchers.

Only an idiot would turn down the Oregon and Fsu money. IF we couldn't fund an IPF or a stadium for this wrong, do you think we would pay a coach that much? I sure don't. Good for Tags to take the bus and fill it with cash. He is back at FAU coaching below Usf now but will be joining the AAC soon.  Hopefully we get out ASAP and CJS leads a turnaround. I  am not sold on him yet, but the recruiting/transfer shows some promise. Tag is back  where he  belongs coaching , but TAGS got PAID.

Hmm, but Oregon was the dream job.

Jeff Scott has not shown one single solitary glimpse in 21 games that he is a competent football coach.

Nonsense. Either you are being hyperbolic or you have no idea what you are talking about.

All we had to do to be a force in the AAC was wait until the Top 3 teams got poached and replaced with CUSA misfits? Awesome strategy.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
