Timmy had a good year, for a freshman. If this teams going to make a leap he'll need to have more situational awareness and not miss as many deep throws

Timmy played. That's about all that can be said. He has a very long way to go to be an average D1 QB. Hope he makes a big leap in year 2. We need it.

Transfers look better than what we replaced but we need some higher ranking HS school recruits as well. I am pumping the brakes until I see results on the field.

I do like this statement.

Quote

Well before Scott left his job at Clemson to take over USF, the program had been built into a successful powerhouse by Willie Taggert, who left the Bulls to coach at Oregon. He was replaced by Charlie Strong, who took a 10-2 team in three years and was fired after running the program into the ground with a 4-8 season. Scott has been attempting to pick up the pieces ever since.

Strong was such a disaster that it feels like we have been putrid forever.  Maybe USF should have tried to match whatever Oregon offered Taggert.  Then we might have been offered a seat in the Big 12 instead of being shut out.  It would have been worth the money.

First we have to win another FBS game. Then we have to win some games on the road. Then maybe, just maybe, we can talk about being a force in the AAC. All of these transfers look great, but Jeff Scott has not shown one single solitary glimpse in 21 games that he is a competent football coach. We have a looonnggg way to go.

Tyrie McCants has alluded to this on twitter, Willie was willing to stay if USF would match the contract Oregon was offering

And he'd have been gone a year later ....... but we may have avoided Chuck with that.

Hard to imagine you guys saying this was a good read. Quick perusal and the guy talked about our defensive scheme and I missed him mentioning  firing the DC. Maybe it was there and I missed it.
