Is no one going to talk about how this is in the wrong thread?

If we make the playoffs as a G6, the recruits and money will come regardless.

Not at the rate of being in the P5 not even close

Here is reality if those two leave the Big12, what’s left isn’t much better than the AAC and their media contract will be similar money wise so forget that 35 million.

The B12 will try to survive by taking 2-4 teams, maybe BYU, Boise and two AAC schools. Or worse case scenario 4 AAC schools. The AAC can add 4. Or even just 1 and with 9 schools play a round robin and still play a championship game.

With the new CFP deal, access will be the same whether in newB12 or newAAC. We just need to win.

I’m not saying that being in the B12 after it rebrands to some like the AAC from the Beast would be as impactful as $35 million (but it would still be a boost). I am saying that no amount of contingency access makes up for the huge gap between $7 million a year vs these numbers and of course being P5 still matters every bit as much as it did yesterday. They have way more money and way more access and that’s obviously better than a little money and a little narrow sliver of access.

Slightly disagree. The new B12 would remain in the top 5 for the new CFP, especially if they add the top 4 from the AAC. But the new AAC without their top 4 is no longer a clear #6. It would depend on who the backfills are. You can forget about any of the top MWC teams joining a depleted AAC, so it's the usual CUSA SBC suspects. Get the right ones and you have a contender for #6 along with the MWC. But if the top targets stay put, oof. Dumpster fire.

We really do not know who they will add. Additions by league will not be the top teams but the schools that they feel will give them a bigger media contract. You are also forgetting that Boise and BYU will also be in picture. So the AAC might only lose 2. After losing Texas they more likely will look at Houston as a replacement and UC will help breach the gap to WV. So the AAC might not be as damaged as you might think and might still look at MWC additions to keep at #6.

Lets wait and see what happens but one thing I can guarantee you is that a Big12 without OU and UT will drop dramatically in tv money and will not be much better than the current AAC so doubt they get more than 10 million per team. And getting more than one team in a 12 team playoff would be a stretch. That Big12 will be only slightly better than current AAC.

Not to mention the fact that the PAC may invite KSU and ISU, etc. KU would certainly be a candidate for the Big10. On top of that Missouri and TAMU are against this and could be looking for two more no votes to block all of this. There are a lot of moving pieces going forward.

Y'all need to prepare yourself.  Come to terms with it.  Embrace it now.

USF is going to get left behind.  Again.  For the second time in the last decade.

Conf. realignment is made at the president level  USF has no president.

If the Big 12 survives (and I am not convinced it will), they will try to pick off the best AAC schools they can.

USF will not be among them, unless there is a complete merger.  USF will be left in CUSA 7.0 in a much lower conf. than the current AAC.  Prepare yourself and come to terms with that now.  You will be better off.

Who's running the ship at USF?

TL:DR

the only correct response to this act of SEC aggression is to create the nSEC. It will be: TCU, Tex Tech, Baylor, SMU, UH, Tulsa, kState, KU

East: USF, UCF, WV, Navy, ECU, Tulane, Memphis, the last team would be a random other school like (fau, FIU, UAB, App State, Coastal Cackalacky, or another value adding school)

Add Cincinnati to the East.
