What is the going rate for an OCS that holds  say 42K-48K fans? 90M ?  I would think that the money from ticket sales, concession and merchandise would help recoup that money very quickly.  That's how to show us that you truly want to put a product out there for the fans and make it our own.  Not some rented out TSA experience.  Yes its an NFL stadium but it is not the same experience for the players or the fans.

You clearly have not built anything lately a stadium like UCFs would be an easy $250 assuming you could get the materials.

I think 300M is too much and although we could spend that much.  I believe a third or half of that would give us something to build upon.  The bounce house was 55M when it was built and in 2020 would have cost around 70M according to the company that built it.

South Alabama just spent around 78 million for a stadium it's around 25k seat capacity.

I do think for around 150 million something pretty decent could be built.  We dont need 45k seats+ and can save money using bench seating...35k capacity or so is plenty for program now.

Delusions for who, Trip?  Generally speaking of course.  It might hurt to say.

Both fans AND administration. That's why it did more harm than good ....

It did great attracting fans. Joining the Big East wasn’t the problem. It was getting kicked out on our ass with nowhere to go -  except to pair up with UCF in a useless conference. Perhaps it’s nobody’s fault, just fate.

But being in the BE was not harmful, that’s sillytalk.  Nor was being #2 harmful.  I’m not sure anyone is clamoring for the #2 but they are clamoring for the competitive teams similar to those that got us there.  Losing like we are now can’t be blamed on the BE or on past success. That’s illogical.

Getting to #2 and playing in the BE was the worse thing that happened to us.

The entitlement it created among certain powerful folks was the worst thing that happened to us. We proved an upstart can play at the highest level but some people failed to appreciate what it really took to get there. CJL had a special eye for defensive talent and fought to get kids admitted. Likewise CWT had great recruiting success. Im amazed we got M Mack and D Johnson in that 2014 class. Whatever CJL and CWT had inorder to build those great teams...CJS needs to find it...he hasn't impressed me at all but there's time yet.

Well this is rock bottom but honestly I feel a little bit of peace being here. We all kinda knew this was coming in the back of our minds and now, we can languish in acceptance. It cannot get worse.

So where to go from here? Looking back to the past literally does us ZERO GOOD at this point. Let’s forget about the #2 rankings and wins over big programs. The former rivalries and standout players. The great times we all had at Ray Jay or on road trips during an abbreviated aberration that was past USF football “success”.

It’s time to reset.

For better or worse, and without placing blame on anyone, it’s time to get back to the early 2000s mindset of USF football when we barely existed. Because that’s pretty much where we are now, and the only way we’ll pull ourselves up is to renew that sense of optimism that we had back then.

Our football program is in its darkest spot ever, and needs hardcore fans like you like it never has. Don’t bail now. Stay and support Coach Scott with everything you have and you’ll be able to say you stuck around for an incredible redemption story.

This is hell, gentlemen. And we can stay here and burn individually, or climb ourselves back into the light as a unified fan base.

Holy Moley that was a post!

I really think this is one of the silliest comments that I’ve ever seen. And it’s not just you saying it but hearing it from time to time. So it’s nothing personal professor. But it’s kind of stupid. #2/Big East was an opportunity that we mishandled and failed to take advantage of.  It was great that it happened. It was poor that we couldn’t handle it.

True we didn't have to illegally forward propulsion our livelihood after that.  That is just pure mismanagement and laziness.  Golden parachutes and no drive.

Getting busted back to the minors...  You either stay the entitled diva and never make it out, or become reacquainted with drive.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
