Ok, then tell the people in private or ignore.   If something is posted, vaguely no less, on a public forum then you are going to get public responses

And, likewise, he should reasonably expect people to have an opinion about what he decides to share.

I'm not suggesting that the kid receive hostile or threatening messages....that is out of line. I am simply stating that I personally wouldn't have handled the situation in the manner that he did. I think that is a fair reaction to what he decided to post.

At his age who knows how we might have reacted. We are adults with many more years of experiences and thus might have handled it better. I had an interaction with a USF professor while I was at USF that didn’t go well when I tried going to the dean for justice. I found out real quick that nothing was going to be done about it and not only that he went out of his way to bad mouth me to potential recruiiters at USF.

Man, that’s terrible. As someone who is the industry, stories like that piss me off to no end. It’s admirable that you still support the university.

To this day 40 years later, I will donate to Athletics and other campus causes but not a cent to that college. Funny thing is that I even got letters from this guy asking for my support to the college.

Not to mention that when a lot of us were his age, there wasn't this level of society killing social media and how it has become ingrained with a lot of that age group ...

Would have been difficult using Twitter from a rotary phone.

Totally agree. At 22, I wasn't the stable, rational genius that graces this board.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
