A pal of his tells him that the malaria drug will work so he goes on TV and touts it.  He is an idiot.  That said, he's in a tough spot but just get out of the way and let the smart people make some decisions.  What are your metrics going to be Mr President?  He points to his forehead and said here are the metrics.  Gimme a F'n break.  

Edit: Did you see the pained expression on that poor woman's face?  You don't think she's sitting there thinking WTF is he saying?  This has nothing to do with what channel I saw it on. If Fox showed it the woman would have the same expression.

Edit again:  Didn't Clorox and Lysol come out and say not to put their products in your body? So they didn't think that people would infer that he was thinking it might work? Oh, yea, it was Sarcasm he says now. Really?

I'm no expert but I'm thinking we are getting close to that time.  Economically people can't stay out of work forever. $1,200 won't get you far.  Social distance wherever you are.  Bring your Clorox wipes with you, wash your hands and wear a mask if you're close to other people.  50% in restaurants would be a place to start.

For two days, every conservative jackass has been trying to put words and intent into Trump's mouth about current medical procedures he was referring to, but since he's not a doctor, he didn't have the jargon to articulate what he was talking about. Then Trump goes and says it was just "sarcasm." blowing the whole defense up. But tomorrow, @lotsofbull99 and the like will pivot to that point and tell everyone Trump is just exposing the biased media with a joke.

I was in a pissy mood last night when I posted last night BUT I saw his face and there was not a hint of a smirk or smile when he said it. Nothing in his tone to make you think he wasn't being totally serious. On line it is tough to get sarcasm across unless it is blatant.  But if we are face to face there will be something in your voice or face that will let you know a person is yanking your chain.

It bears worth mentioning, in aggregate the US response to COVID was deplorable by all and any measure.   The only time that truly mattered was the first 3 weeks of this mess.  Law of logarithmic spread.  Anything after those first three weeks was akin to sweeping dust in a wind storm.  Mattered very little.

The evidence to the US’a awful response is irrefutable:  Sweden didn’t broadly shut down and mostly told old people to stay in.  People continued eating in restaurants and went about their life.  Result: 217 people dead per million of its population.

US calls it a hoax initially and seizes it’s economy up with 153 dead/million.

Compare that with Taiwan that knew it was doing and had 0.3 dead/million.  That would imply the US would have 105 dead to date had they acted like adults in the room early and not the 70,000 or US citizens that will die.  Made worse is the US had far more time to prepare than even Taiwan did.

The US mortality rate was marginally better than a country that did virtually nothing.  America’s response should be be a case study on how ‘not’ to respond to a pandemic.  Made worse is you have its leader pimping the merits of snorting tide pods and Clorox high colonics.

This has been an absolute joke of a response by the US- a hack.   Suggesting it’s anything less means your eyes are wide shut.  History will grade the US’s response to this effort as and F minus once the dust clears and we’ll deserve every bit of it.
