Anyone on this board would kill for 7-5 right now.  We should consider getting back on the bus.  No P5 program will hire him, but he could get an announcing gig.

We would kill for it now but after three years of it we would want the person fired...

There are only about 20 jobs in the country that aren't stepping stones. Oregon was a stepping stone. Sure as **** PJ Fleck is leaving Minnesota if he keeps this up. Some SEC school is going to snatch him up for millions more. That's the way it goes.

^^^ Yep. Crazy to think that Oregon was a stepping stone.

Agreed, which is why I don't understand the "Taggart didn't want to be here" thing. I think he wanted to be in a better situation, just as any coach would.

This is based on zero evidence....just guessing here....but I think when Willie was hired here, he might have thought that the USF job would be a big step up from WKU, then found out he was wrong once he was in place. I think he might have been caught off guard by the university's seemingly casual approach to athletics. I'm guessing the same for Skip. He might have been expecting more from a program in an AQ conference (at the time),. I heard it mentioned that his hands were tied when it came to recruiting. He would have been better off staying at ECU. Might have gotten a P5 shot, and failed for a lot more money.

If I'm USF the first person I'm reaching out to is Willie Taggart.

Probably wouldn't be a stepping stone for everyone, but for a Florida boy who grew up a FSU fan .....

Honestly, I think you would have to entertain the idea of Taggart.   Financially, recruiting, recent success here.  It makes sense to talk to him if he is interested in talking

If we do something like this I would be so disappointed.  Find the NEXT great younger coach.

If we were to rehire Taggart, I’d hang up my horns.

Taggart has 20 million sitting at home.

The hunger is gone.

I doubt he would put the same type of enthusiasm as he did his first go-round in recruiting, etc.
