I must say that I really don’t notice must difference between the AAC and BE. If the Pee5 stuff was not so pronounced now we woukd see our four ranked teams ranked significantly better than they are now. The BE teams did not have to live in that prejudice that is now CFB.

The Big East was better in every regard against every single outside conference, you can feel however you like but you kind of need some data to support that the empirical data is somehow biased.

Well again, like your point on CJL, it really does not matter anymore does it? Still, I believe that The BE would have received the same amount of love as the AAC currently does if they were working in today’s current structure of CFB.

Big East at least had a recruiting advantage that you *could* play for a NC.  Yes we were lower tier, but I remember WVU was a Wannstache away from doing it.

Exactly, and if the BE did not have that they would be where the AAC is today. Conversely if the AAC was a power conference we would have the same rankings as they did back in the day. The goal posts have been moved.

The amount of love they receive does not mean they are the same and if they were running in tandem there would not be one person on the planet that would think the AAC was on the same level much less better. If the Big East were still around the AAC would still be called Conference USA 3.0 and no one would be seriously consider them the same any more than they did 10 years ago.

How does that change their records vs outside conferences?

How many opportunities does an AAC get to take on the P5? Two maybe?

By comparison in 2006 the Big East had 21 games going 14-7

I like to call it The Big East was more than 2x better than the AAC, why because math that’s why green and it is juxtaposed with feelings are dumb and not measurable red. The names are a little wordy but it’s a work in progress.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
