Lately I've felt just apathy during the games. This is another year to appreciate the tailgating and friends in my section.

I'm getting too old to let the game ruin my day. Even the road games, the losses bother me less because I care less. 

I haven't learned to behave, I've learned not to care.

I get it.   I'm not there yet. But, I have lowered expectations significantly.  I don't expect I'll go to my grave prouder for anything outside of what we accomplished in our first 10 years....that's a sad ending for an OG fan.  It is what it is.  We don't seem to have a fix on how to do this thing any more.

If you get that upset that you have to hurl expletives at college kids who are playing for your University, you may want to get a different hobby.

I've been USF fan for nearly half a century.  Relatively speaking, high points have been rare as hen's teeth in that time.  My head used to explode over this.  Then I went through two divorces and a lifetime of beatings worse than anything every delivered in a sporting event.  My perspective changed -- a lot.  

Was I disappointed yesterday? Dang straight!  Did I still support my team and love  the company of misery with fellow Bulls fans and friends I have made over the years?  Yes again.  

Right now, I await another sunrise and wistfully dream of a better day:  Basketball!

Winning this comparison isn't exactly brag worthy. When I tell those two stories, people laugh and I feel like an idiot. When you tell this story at work tomorrow, people are going to leave the room and skip having lunch with you for awhile.

Did we end up losing? I pretended the power went out at halftime, dressed my one year old daughter up in some Bulls gear, and then we drowned our sorrows in Bud Light together.
