I have no doubt that our program would be in a better place had we stuck with CJL

We'd still be in the same place, your cesspool of a conference ... but maybe he'd be our Kirk Ferentz. From a rare, on point column by one of the local yokels:

Maybe more programs should be like Iowa. Coach Kirk Ferentz runs a clean program, goes 8-5 every year, occasionally upsets a highly-ranked team, wins a bowl game here and there, and finishes in the top 10 every few years. Shoot, he has been doing that for 20 years now.

It makes you wonder: how in the world does this guy still have a job?

How can any one of us here expect @Gatorbull325 to understand about CJL's time here?  As he is wont to point out, he's a Gator first and just thought it would be cool to be a Bulls fan (which I appreciate, don't get me wrong, but the lens of his glasses are just different as a Gator fan).

Just like a leopard can't change its spots, a Gator fan cannot truly understand what it's like to be first a fan of a still young program like USF.  Nor should we expect him to.

The name should give it away I guess

I totally respect CJL for BUILDING this program and setting the foundation. But as an actual football coach he has a 500. record and USF averaged 8 to 9 wins a season with him. It baffles me how he is held in such high regards as a head coach. I think he is a great defensive coordinator though.

He must've been coaching in the NFL the whole time. That's news to me.

And here all this time I thought CJL was 95-57 (.625) while everyone else was 58-53 (.524) with the deaparted being .432 and .490, luckily Strong is holding them up with a falling .708 and Weist has what will always be a record batting a perfect 💯. Now let’s dig into quality wins, quality of opponents, program building, community support and bowl games and victories....

You're wrong about the record.  The evidence is there, you just have to look at it objectively, which is impossible extremely hard to do as a fan of a P5 school looking at USF.

Why would you think that?  He has a .500 record ... Gatorbull said so.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
